Do children require a visa to visit Sri Lanka?
Children under 12 years of age are exempt from obtaining a Sri Lanka ETA. Children under 16 with individual passports are required to apply for a separate visa. For minors, the parents should sign the application.
Who is eligible for Sri Lanka ETA?
ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is exactly the same as a visa for Sri Lanka. This type of visa is available to citizens of 252 countries in the world, allowing international travelers to enter legally and stay in Sri Lanka for a certain period of time.
Visitors from Cameroon, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Ghana who intend to apply for ETA may apply through a Sri Lankan Sponsor for their ETA from the Head office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration, Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka ETA holders can travel to Sri Lanka for different purposes such as tourism, participating in business meetings, conferences that were held in Sri Lanka, and transit purposes. Owing to its big advantages, all visitors are advised to apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter Sri Lanka.
